Azorfa

Staying tonight at the municipal albergue at Azorfa. This is nice since we have a private cubicle with just 2 beds. We both have the sniffles from the weather, so the goal today was to make it to a decent size town before everything closed for the weekend. Everything I read before coming here said no worries, you can buy whatever you need in Spain! That may be true if a) you are in town before siesta and b) you can find the shop that sells what you want -- most shops have very specific inventory and you have to go to several if you need a few items -- guess we are spoiled by having everything at our fingertips in the US. Anyway, today was a nice walk - overcast but no rain : ). We will go about 20km tomorrow and weather about the same. We are in the wine country now, passed many fields of grape vines today
Pictures don't seem to capture the colors or vastness of countryside here! The roadside is filled with lots of yellow flowers, purple thistles & red poppies. Follow the yellow arrows!

  1. Lisa and ANDY, My sincerest apologies for calling you Corey. I sometimes do that in school with younger siblings. They don't appreciate it either. So glad you finally had some decent weather. Looking for items in different shops gives you the opportunity to see more things (trying to make lemonade out of lemons, ha ha). We might get a break in the weather also. Hope to finish beans. Love, Lisa

  2. Wow! A photo without a lime green poncho in it! Successful day!

You missed a wonderful Mass and Homily by Fr. John this morning, this Feast of Corpus Christi but I know you were being well prayed up!

Another gray, cold, wet day here so don't be thinking you're alone! I think we're all just embracing the cruddy weather as our spiritually joining you and Boo's pilgimage!

    One step at a time!
